Divide the number of pages by 4, then multiply by the thickness:
Inner – positive figure.
Outer – negative figure.
Inner only for spreads.
PERFECT BIND SPINES
For calculating spine width, simply multiply paper thickness by number of sheets (pages divided by two) then add cover thickness, twice.
i.e. 80pp on 130gsm Silk with 300gsm Silk Cover: .10 x 40 + .23 + .23 = 4.46mm Spine
